The Wellsboro Track teams both picked up wins over Wyalusing on Tuesday, April 14.
The boys team won their first match of the season 81-67, while the girls won 103-47.
For the girls, Junior Joey Taft was third in the pole vault (7' 2"), Junior Jada Jackson (13.2) and Senior Lauren Bleggi (13.6) swept the 100m, and Junior Haley Zuchowski won the 100m hurdles (17.58). The Lady Hornets swept the discus with Senior Meghan Bodine (75' 8") topping Sophomores Hannah Lawton (71' 6") and Samantha Spurgeon (66' 7"). Junior Camryn Keane won the 800m (2:49.98) followed by Senior Annie Sweeney (2:51.98) and Freshman Anna Bleggi (2:55.89).
Junior Raisa Rogers won the high jump at 4' 10" with Junior Mikayla Feil in 2nd (4' 6"), Bodine won the shot put, Zuchowski (51.65) and Rogers (54.97) swept the 300m hurdles, Anna Bleggi won the 1600m (6:11.0), Jackson won the triple jump (36' 1"), Feil was 2nd in the javelin (77' 1"), Junior Lindsey Graver was 2nd in the 400m (1:09.71), Sophomore Janessa Davis won the 3200m (13:40.32), and Jackson won the long jump (16' 6.5") followed by Graver (15' 2") and Lauren Bleggi (14' 9").
For the boys, Senior Michael Pietropola was 2nd in the 100m (11.94) followed by Senior Nick Marple in 3rd (12.0). Senior Jonas Benner was 2nd in the discus (97' 4"), Senior Jack Chambers won the 110m hurdles (17.6), and Junior Isaac Leach was 2nd in the 800m (2:22.0).
Marple (5' 10") and Junior Rich Tardieu (5' 6") swept the high jump, Benner won the shot put (38' 4"), and Chambers won the 300m hurdles (43.91). Leach finished 2nd in the 1600m (5:24.0), Tardieu was 2nd in the triple jump (36' 2.5"), Sophomore Brody Coolidge was 3rd in the javelin (114' 4"), Senior Brieux Thibaut was 2nd in the 400m (56.43), Sophomore Jacob Singer was 2nd in the 200m (26.39), Leach won the 3200m (12:29.73), and Senior Kieron Smethers was 2nd in the long jump (18' 8").
With the wins, boys team improves to 1-2 while the girls are now 2-1. Both teams will be back in action on Thursday, April 16 as they host Sayre.
