Four members of the Wellsboro Girls Track team qualified for the PIAA State Track and Field Meet at the District IV Championships at Athens on Saturday, May 16.
The 4x100m relay team of Senior Lauren Bleggi and Juniors Jada Jackson, Lindsey Graver, and Raisa Rogers finished in 3rd with a time of 50.48 but beat the qualifying mark of 50.8 to advance. Jackson also qualified in two individual events. In the long jump she finished 2nd at 17 ft 10.25 in and was also 2nd in the triple jump at 37 ft 7.25 in.
Jackson (12.73) finished 5th in the 100m and Lauren Bleggi (13.1) was 8th, Lauren Bleggi (26.82) was 7th in the 200m, Freshman Anna Bleggi (5:41.28) was 6th in the 1600m, and Junior Haley Zuchowski was 8th in the 100m hurdles (17.12) and 14th in the 300m hurdles (50.61).
The 4x800m relay team of Junior Camryn Keane, Seniors Caitlynn Butler and Annie Sweeney, and Anna Bleggi were 10th (10:42.58). Rogers (5 ft) was 7th in the high jump with Junior Mikayla Feil (4 ft 8 in) in 14th, and Graver (15 ft 8.5 in) was 11th in the long jump and 15th in the triple jump (31 ft 8.25 in).
Overall the girls finished in 8th place with 35 team points.
