The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team had a three-game win streak snapped as they lost 3-1 to Towanda on Thursday, October 9.
Towanda won the first set 25-19 and won 25-20 in the second before the Lady Hornets won the third set 25-22. Towanda then won the fourth set to take the match, 25-16.
Wellsboro got six points and four aces from Senior Jordan Butters and Junior Haley Zuchowski had six points and 24 digs. Sophomore Morgan Florio had four points and two aces, Sophomore Kirsten Florio had 11 kills, Junior Darci Warriner had 11 kills, and Senior Danielle Mihalik had seven kills.
Senior Peyton Wilson had 16 assists and 29 digs, Junior Maddy Kyle had 10 assists, and Senior Paige Carr had 31 digs.
In the JV game, the Lady Hornets won 2-1 (25-17, 18-25, 16-14) to improve to 13-2. The JV team will participate in the Troy JV Tournament on Saturday, October 11.
With the loss, the Varsity team falls to 10-5 (4-4 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 14 as they host Troy for Senior Night.
