The Wellsboro Middle School girls basketball team extended their win streak to six games following a 38-9 victory Thursday night.
"We finally got off to a quick start and finished the first quarter with a 14-0 lead," said head coach Darrell Morris. "The girls did a pretty good job of finding the openings in the zone and getting good shot opportunities with each possession. Other than some poor passes and a few times not boxing out, we played a good game from start to finish."
Rachael Tuttle scored a game high 14 points along with 4 steals and 8 rebounds, Brianne Keane added 12 points, 4 steals, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds, Lizzie Poirier chipped in with 6 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds, and Alyssa Yungwirth and Sydney Tremper added 4 and 2 points respectively.
In the B game the Hornets lost 10-9. The team cut the lead from 10-6 to 10-9 in the last minute of the game and got a good shot off at the end that didn't go.
With the A team's win, the Lady Hornets improve to 12-3. The team will be back in action on Tuesday, March 18 as they host Liberty.
