The Wellsboro Middle School boys basketball team increased their win steak to three games after defeating Cowanesque 38-23 on Friday night, March 14.
The boys started the game out flat but woke up in the second quarter and started playing better defensive basketball as they held a 21-11 lead over the host Indians. In the third quarter, the Hornets outscored CV 10-4 to extended their lead to 31-15. In the fourth quarter Wellsboro was able to hold on for their ninth win of the season.
Dalton Prough led the Hornets with 13 points on the night, followed by Collin Pietropola with 7, and Quinn Henry with 6.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 9-3. The team will be back in action on Tuesday, March 18 as they host Liberty.
