The Wellsboro Middle School boys basketball team completed their season with a 51-8 rout of Mansfield to win the NTL Tournament on Saturday, March 29.
Against North Penn Aidan Moore, Collin Pietropola, and Cole Cavanaugh each had 8 points to led the team. Brandyn Tuttle, Dalton Prough, Quinn Henry, and Alex Kozuhowski each had 4 points, and Gabe Leach, Parker Mann, and Andrew Brelo pitched in 2 points each.
Against Cowanesque Pietropola scored 9 points to led the Hornets. Prough, Henry, and Cavanaugh recorded 6 points each, Mann and Kozuhowski had 4 points, Leach and Moore added 3 points, and Brelo pitched in one.
In the championship game against Mansfield Henry scored a team-high 14 points. Prough had 9, Nic Ingerick and Pietropola scored 8 points each, Cavanaugh and Johnathan Rowland had 4 points, Mann and Moore each had 2 points, and Tuttle added one point.
"It was great to end the season on such a high note," said head coach Ed Hamm. "These boys put in a lot of hard work, and they truly seem to love the game of basketball.
"I'm going to miss them next season, but it will be fun to see them compete at the next level."
With the wins, the Hornets finished their season with a record of 17-3. WellsboroAthletics.com would like to congratulate Coach Hamm and the boys on a fantastic season.
