The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team won the Shamokin volleyball tournament on Saturday, September 20.
The team went undefeated on the day out scoring their opponents 318-114, and this is the second consecutive year the Lady Hornets have won the tournament.
The team beat Millersburg 25-21, 25-21 in the finals. Senior Peyton Wilson had 58 points, 15 aces, 26 assists, and 18 digs, Sophomore Morgan Florio had 21 points, 7 aces, and 21 assists, Junior Mikayla Feil had 21 points, 20 kills, and 4 blocks, Sophomore Kirsten Florio recorded 14 kills and 8 blocks, Junior Haley Zuchowski notched 15 points, 4 aces, and 10 digs, Senior Danielle Mihalik had 17 kills, and Senior Paige Carr had 11 digs.
"We played really well today," Carr said. "Everything looks like it's finally coming together."
The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 23 as they travel to Troy.
