The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team dropped a non-league game to Coudersport 3-2 on Monday, September 29.
The Lady Hornets dropped the opening set 25-21 before winning the second 25-23 and the third 25-22. Coudersport would rebound in the fourth set to win 25-19 and 18-16 in the fifth set to claim the victory.
Senior Peyton Wilson led the team with 15 points on the night to go along with 13 assists and 20 digs. Sophomore Morgan Florio had 14 points, 14 assists, and 15 digs, Senior Danielle Mihalik had 8 kills and 12 digs, Junior Darci Warriner had 35 digs, 5 kills, and 8 points, and Senior Paige Carr recorded 37 digs.
In the JV game, Wellsboro lost 2-0 (25-17, 25-23) to fall to 8-2. With the Varsity loss, the team falls to 7-3 (2-2 NTL Division 1). The team takes on Wyalusing on Tuesday, October 30.
