The Wellsboro Girls Cross Country team picked up wins over Canton and Sayre on Tuesday, September 9 in Wellsboro.
The Lady Hornets beat Canton 19-42 and Sayre did not have enough runners for a full team score.
Junior Jada Jackson won the meet in 22:35. Junior Camryn Keane was third at 23:54, Freshman Anna Bleggi was 4th (24:00), Junior Jordyn Coffee was 5th (25:04), Senior Annie Sweeney was 6th (25:11), Junior Samantha Bailey was 8th (25:47), and Senior Caitlynn Butler was 9th (25:52).
In the Middle School meet, Wellsboro won both races due to the fact that none of the other schools had enough runners. Jamie Palmer was the top finishing girl in 9th (12:34).
With the win, the Lady Hornets start the 2014 season 2-0 (2-0 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 16 as they travel to Athens.
