The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team picked up a 3-1, non-league win over Williamson on Saturday, September 13.
The Lady Hornets took game one 25-20 and Williamson won game two, 20-25, to even the score up. Wellsboro then won games three and four 25-21 to earn the victory.
Sophomore Kirsten Florio led the team with 5 kills and 3 blocks, Senior Peyton Wilson recorded 6 assists, 9 points, and 2 aces, and Junior Darci Warriner also had 9 points and 2 aces. Sophomore Morgan Florio had 13 points and 1 ace, Senior Paige Carr had 30 digs, and Junior Haley Zuchowski had 31 digs and 3 kills.
In the JV game, Wellsboro won 2-0 (25-23 and 25-12) to improve to 3-0 on the year.
With the win, the Varsity team improves to 2-1 (0-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Monday, September 15 as they travel to Cowanesque Valley.
