The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team picked up their first win of the season as they defeated Sayre 3-1 on Tuesday, September 9.
The Lady Hornets took game one 25-22. Sayre won game two 25-23, and Wellsboro took games three and four 25-18 and 25-17 for earn the win.
Sophomore Morgan Florio led the team with 10 kills, 11 points, and 5 aces. Senior Peyton Wilson recorded 21 assists and 19 digs, Junior Darci Warriner had 29 digs and 9 kills, Senior Paige Carr had 15 digs, and Junior Mikayla Feil had 13 points, 1 ace, and 8 kills.
In the JV match, the Lady Hornets improved to 2-0 as they downed Sayre 25-21 and 25-10.
With the win, the Varsity team improves to 1-1 (0-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 13 as they travel to Williamson.
