In four hotly contested games, Williamson was able to come away with three of them to edge Wellsboro 3-1 in NTL volleyball action Monday.
The Warriors won the first two 25-22 and 25-20 while the Hornets took the third 25-20. Williamson eeked out a 26-24 win in the fourth to secure the victory. Wellsboro had the fourth game won at 25-23 when the referee had a late "roofing" call.
Junior Danielle Mihalik led the team with 15 kills and 18 digs, while Junior Peyton Wilson had 15 assists, 15 points, and 4 aces. Senior Kaelyn Keane recorded 7 blocks, Senior Alex Kurtz made 12 assists, 10 points, and 5 aces, and Senior Katie Straniere had 34 digs on the night.
In the J.V. game, the Lady Hornets also fell to Williamson in two games (25-19 & 25-21).
With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 5-7 (1-6 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 8 as they travel to Athens.
