The Wellsboro Varsity girls soccer team had their three-game winning streak snapped by Troy in overtime on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the season the Lady Hornets were shut out against Troy. This time, the Lady Hornets jumped out to an early lead when Freshman Kelsey Logan scored off an assist from Sophomore Jenny Young to put the team up 1-0. Troy would battle back to take a 2-1 lead in the second half, but Young scored on a goal of her own in the 71st minute to tie the game up and force overtime.
The Lady Hornets played tough defense but allowed the game-winning goal with just over 1:30 left in the overtime period to fall, 3-2.
Junior Meghan Bodine made 13 saves in goal on the night.
With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 4-6-1 (3-5-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 28 as they travel to Sayre.
