The Wellsboro Middle School Lady Hornets faced Williamson for the second time in three days, and came away with a close win. After defeating the Warriors 28-15 on Saturday, the team pulled out a 18-10 victory Monday night.
Rachael Tuttle led all scorers with 8 points on 4-15 shooting and 16 rebounds. Lizzie Poirier, Kaeli Butters (8 rebounds), Jessica Grab (4 rebounds), Brianne Keane, and Janessa Davis each added 2 points.
"We had a rough shooting night again, going 9-34 from the floor, but we played outstanding team defense throughout the game, holding Williamson to 5 points in each half," said head coach Darrell Morris. "We did a good job with our press in the second half and forced some turnovers to pull away."
The B team also won 17-9 to improve to 8-3 on the year.
With the win, the A team improves to 13-6 overall. The team will be back in action on Thursday, March 28 as they travel to Liberty.
