The Wellsboro Middle School boys basketball team finished the season on a high note with a 32-21 victory over Williamson Monday night in Wellsboro.
Brandon Lamphier led all scorers with 13 points and Bryon Callahan had 5. Dalton Prough, Collin Pietropola, and Jacob Singer all had 4 points, and Alden Weiner pitched in 2.
"The boys took care of the ball and were patient on offense," said head coach Ed Hamm. "At one point I believe we took two minutes off the clock because we were working hard to take a high percentage shot.
"Tonight and throughout the season we played team basketball. I reminded the boys after the game that it does not matter who the high rebounder, assist leader or scorer is as long as we all play aggressive and win together," continued Hamm.
"Brandon Lamphier attacked the basket on offense and happened to be the high scorer, however I was even more impressed by his defensive effort. Brandon was guarding their best player and he made it difficult for Williamson to run their offense," concluded Hamm.
With the win, the A team finishes their season with a record of 11-7.
The B team also defeated Williamson 24-3 to finish the season with only 1 loss.
