The Wellsboro Varsity girls basketball team took home third place in the Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club Holiday Tournament with a 55-44 victory over Troy.
The Lady Hornets had three girls score in double figures on the night with Sophomore Sarah Ingerick leading the way with 17 points and 3 steals. Sophomore Jada Jackson and Junior Jordan Butters each had 11 points on the night. Jackson also had 5 assists and 13 rebounds.
Rouding out the rest of the scorers were Senior Brooke Kohler and Sophomore Alexa Singer with six each and Junior Peyton Wilson and Sophomore Jenny Young with two each.
In the J.V. game earlier in the day, the Lady Hornets fell to Montoursville 27-22.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 4-5. The team will return to action on Saturday, January 4, 2014 as they host Liberty.
