The Wellsboro Varsity girls basketball team scored 18 third quarter points to break a two-game losing streak and defeat CV, 49-42.
Sophomore Sarah Ingerick scored a team-high 15 points and 3 assists to help the Lady Hornets to their second win of the 2013 season. Sophomore Alexa Singer pitched in 9, Senior Brooke Kohler added 8, and Junior Jordan Butters added 7.
Sophomore Jada Jackson had 5 rebounds and a steal, and Kohler blocked two shots on the night.
In the J.V. game, Wellsboro cruised to a 47-19 victory, their first of the year. Sophomore Jenny Young scored 16 to lead the team.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve their record to 2-3. The team will be back in action on Saturday, December 21 as they travel to Coudersport.
