The Wellsboro Lady Hornets traveled to Wyalusing but came up short of their fifth win in a row with a 57-41 loss.
"We were definitely not on our game," said head coach Mary Grab. "Wyalusing was long, lean and finished well. We played hard, and rebounded well but, once again, our poor shooting did us in."
Senior Mackenzie Marple led the squad with 11 points followed by Senior Kimberly Acorn with 9, Sophomore Jordan Butters with 8, and Freshman Jada Jackson with 7. Rounding out the rest of the scoring were Senior Hannah Zuchowski, Freshman Sarah Ingerick, and Senior Kiana Acorn with 2 points each.
In the JV game, the Hornets continued their perfect season by picking up a 44-33 win. Freshman Alexa Singer and Ingerick led the team with 14 points each.
With the loss, the Hornets fall to 7-9 (4-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Thursday, January 24 as they travel to Liberty to start the second half of NTL West play.
