Sophomore Sarah Ingerick scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Varsity girls basketball team past Canton, 48-15 on Monday night in Wellsboro.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to an early 14-4 lead as they cruised to victory. To go along with her career-tying scoring night, Ingerick also had 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals. Sophomore Jada Jackson added 8 points and 15 rebounds, Sophomore Alexa Singer scored 7, Junior Jordan Butters pitched in 5 points, and Senior Brooke Kohler finished with 4 points.
In the J.V. game, the Lady Hornets won 26-13 behind eight points each from Sophomore Jenny Young and Freshman Janessa Davis to pick up their second win of the season.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 3-4. The team will be back in action on Friday, December 27 as they host Williamsport in the first round of the Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club Holiday Tournament.
