The Wellsboro Varsity boys basketball team continued their NTL dominance with a 69-57 win over Wyalusing Wednesday night.
The Hornets jumped out to an early 11-0 leadand used strong defensive play to force 28 Wyalusing turnovers to earn their 15th victory of the year.
Senior Jordan Jackson led the team with a game-high 26 points. Junior Joey Doganiero was the second leading scorer on the night with 15 points and Junior Dylan Prough added in 12 points. Roudning out the rest of the scoring for the Hornets was Sophomore Michael Pietropola with 8 points, Senior Matt Reese with 5, and Sophomore Kieron Smethers with 3 to go with 11 rebounds.
In the JV game, the Hornets topped Wyalusing 41-38 for their 10th win of the season. Freshman Dawson Prough led the team with 18 points.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 15-1 (5-0 NTL West). The team will be back in action to start the second half of NTL West play on Friday, January 25 as they travel to Liberty.
