Members of the Wellsboro swim team competed Saturday at the Williamsport Coaches Invite had an outstanding showing. The team swam against teams from Canton, Central Columbia, Danville, Jersey Shore, Lewisburg, Line Mountain, Mansfield, Meadowbrook Christian, Montoursville, Muncy, North Penn, Shamokin, and Williamsport.
For the boys, Junior Blair Carson took 1st in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.47 and 3rd in the 100 butterfly at 1:01.15. Senior Bobby Hill took home two 1st place medals on the day. Hill finished 1st in the 50 freestyle in 23.15 and again in the 100 freestyle in 50.83.
For the girls, Mikayla Feil finished 2nd in the 50 freestyle in 27.72 and 9th the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.98. Sophomore Emilie Kramer took 1st in the 200 IM with a time of 2:27.50 and 6th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.44. Junior Alex Kurtz took home 3rd in the 50 freestyle in 28.44 and 5th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:14.08. Senior Brittany Redell captured 2nd in the 100 freestyle in a time of 1:00.97 and 2nd in the 100 backstroke at 1:10.43.
The team will be back in action on Monday, at Sayre, where they will participate in the NTL swim meet.
