The Wellsboro girls track team continued their perfect season Tuesday night as they topped North Penn, 89-61.
The Lady Hornets swept the 100m run, as Freshmen Lindsey Graver (14.0), Alexa Singer (14.3), and Emma Eccher (14.7) finished in the top three spots. In the 200m run, Sophomore Lauren Bleggi took home the top spot with a time of 28.4, and Singer finished 3rd in the 400m run (1:07.1).
In the 800m run, Senior Randi Grim finished 2nd (2:42.4) followed by Sophomore Annie Sweeney in 3rd (2:45.5). Freshman Jada Jackson won the 1600m run in 5:49.2, and Freshman Jordyn Coffee took home 3rd in the 3200m run in 13:40.0.
In the 100m hurdles, Senior Mackenzie Marple took home 1st place in 17.8, followed by Freshman Haley Zuchowski in 2nd (19.6). Jackson won the 300m hurdles in a time of 50.2.
The 4x100m relay team of Senior Kimberly Acorn, Senior Sarah Kramer, Senior Becky Chambers, and Bleggi won with a time of 53.5. The 4x400m relay of Chambers, Sweeney, Sophomore Ashley Johns, and Graver finished 2nd in 4:34.4, and the 4x800m relay team of Grim, Sweeney, Sophomore Caitlynn Butler, and Chambers finished 2nd in 11:03.1.
In the jumping events, Freshman Raisa Rogers won the high jump (4' 8"), Kramer won the pole vault (9' 0"), and Acorn won both the long jump (15' 2") and the triple jump (35' 2").
In the throwing events, Junior Alex Kurtz finished 3rd in the shot put (25' 1.5"), Senior Jessie Catherman finished 2nd in the discus (83' 2"), and Marple won the javelin (108' 3").
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 6-0 (5-0 NTL). The team will be back in action on Friday, April 26 as they participate in the Twin Tiers Invite.
