The Wellsboro boys track team won all but one event Tuesday night as they dominated Williamson, 132-17.
Junior Dan Brooks won the 100m run in a time of 12.2, Senior Mitch Snyder (12.4) and Sophomore Michael Pietropola (12.4) tied for 3rd, and Sophomore Nick Marple was 4th (12.5). In the 200m, Brooks took home the top spot again (25.0), while Junior Jermaine Brooks was 3rd (26.7).
The Hornets swept both the 400m and 800m runs with Senior Jordan Jackson winning both events. In the 400m, Jackson ran in 51.8 followed by Junior Joey Doganiero (53.8) and Junior Dylan Prough (56.1). In the 800m, Jackson finished in 2:07.3, followed by Senior Bobby Hill (2:11.3), and Doganiero (2:13.0).
Hill took 1st in the 1600m run in 4:45.3 followed by Freshman Dakota Cleveland (5:38.0). Cleveland would back up his 2nd place finish in the 1600m with a 1st place finish in the 3200m run, finishing in a time of 12:09.9. Sophomore Keegan Reifer trailed Cleveland with a time of 13:59.7.
In the 110m hurdles, Sophomore Jack Chambers took 1st with a time of 19.1, followed by Junior Blair Carson (19.6). Chambers (46.4) and Carson (51.2) were the top two finishers in the 300m hurdles, followed by Freshman Tucker Worthington in 3rd (55.8), and Freshman Evan Bair in 4th (1:01.0).
Wellsboro's realy teams all won on the night to round our the running events. The 4x100m team ran a time of 46.2, the 4x400m team ran 3:44.5, and the 4x800m team ran 10:02.0.
In the jumping events, Sophomore Kieron Smethers won the high jump (5' 6"), Senior Thomas Straniere won the pole vault (11' 0"), Pietropola and Prough tied for first in the long jump (18' 9"), and Snyder won the triple jump (38' 1").
In the throwing events, Junior Blake Gamble won the shot put (40' 0.5") and finished 2nd in the discus (89' 9") and Marple won the javelin (150' 2").
With the win, the Hornets are now 2-3 (1-3 NTL). The team will be back in action on Friday, April 19 as they travel to Lock Haven University to participate in the Blad Eagle Invite.
