Junior Lauren Bleggi scored a hat trick to help the Varsity girls soccer team shut out Towanda, 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Bleggi's first goal came in the 23rd minute to put the Lady Hornets up 1-0. Just a few minutes laster she found the back of the net again to put Wellsboro up 2-0. Bleggi completed the hat trick in the 35th minute to go up 3-0 before the end of the first half.
In the second half, the Lady Hornets came out right where they left off. Sophomore Brynn Ripley scored a pair of goals (43rd minute and 62nd minute) to extend Wellsboro's lead to 5-0, and Sophomore Sarah Ingerick added the game's final goal at the 73 minute mark to close the game.
Junior Emilie Kramer and Sophomores Jenny Young and Lindsey Graver each had assists on the day.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 8-8-1 (7-7-1 NTL). The team will be back in action on Wednesday, October 16 as they host Mansfield.
