Members of the Wellsboro swim team competed in Districts over the weekend and four came home with medals.
Senior Bobby Hill finished 2nd in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.67 and 4th in the 100 freestyle at 50.10. Hill's time in the 50 freestyle should earn him one of the 16 additional invites to the PIAA Championships held at Bucknell University on March 13-14.
"It's killing me that I am going to have to wait a week or so," Hill said. "I feel that my time will stack up pretty well and it will be really close to the state times. I'm just not sure if it's quite there. It's going to be right there and hopefully I make it in."
Junior Blair Carson placed 4th in the 100 breaststroke at 1:04 and 14th 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.11, Sophomore Emilie Kramer took home 5th in the 200IM in 2:24.29 and 8th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.75, Senior Brittany Redell finished 5th in the 100 freestyle in 59.02 and 8th in the 100 backstroke 1:06.15.
Rounding out the rest of the times was Freshman Mikayla Feil with an 8th place finish in the 50 free with a time of 27.31 and 11th in the 100 breaststroke at 1:20.81 and Junior Alex Kurtz with a 16th place finish in the 50 freestyle 28.72.
Hill, Carson, Kramer, and Redell all took home medals for the Hornets. Each team finished in 10th place, with the boys scoring 49.5 points and the girls 68.
