Varsity softball tops Towanda

The Wellsboro Varsity softball team picked up their second win in as many days as they defeated Towanda 3-2 this afternoon. The win was Wellsboro's fourth against the NTL East this season.
Freshman Jordan Butters led the Hornets from the plate as she went 2-4 on the afternoon. Sophomore Maggie Smith also added 2 RBI's. Sophomore Brooke Kohler recorded her third win on the year from the mound as she pitched all seven innings.
With the win, the Hornets improve their 2012 season record to 9-4 (5-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Monday, May 7, as they host Cowanesque.
