In a game that was close from start to finish, the Lady Hornets dropped to Williamson by a score of 40-37. Leading the way for Wellsboro was Raina Rogers with 12 points, Mackenzie Marple with 9 and Taylor Acorn with 6 points. Both Marple and Taylor Acorn had 6 rebounds a piece. Mikayla Palmer-Bacon was back in action after being out with an injury for two weeks. She had 3 steals and 3 assists.
"It was good to have Mika back tonight," said coach Mary Grab. "She provides such a great spark for the team. It was so disappointing to lose. I was looking forward to getting a win tonight, but we just didn't bring the intensity we needed," said Grab. "Our shooting percentage was really low and our turnover rate too high," she added. "You can't win a game that way."
The scales tipped another way during the Junior Varsity game, with the Lady Hornets winning 30-27. Jessie Catherman was high scorer with 8 points followed by Jordan Butters with 7. Paige Carr was a real force on the boards, pulling down 11 rebounds.
