In NTL West action Monday night, both of the Wellsboro Lady Hornet squads won over Williamson. Raina Rogers led all scorers with 13 points in the Varsity win. Mackenzie Marple followed with 11 points and Andrea Dean hauled in 7 rebounds. Hannah Zuchowski and Raina Rogers each had 4 steals.
"It wasn't the prettiest game," commented coach Mary Grab. "The girls worked hard throughout the game and, in the end, that helped them to overcome some breakdowns in basic areas such as passing the ball accurately."
The JV team, led by Jordan Butters, with 10 points and 5 rebounds won by a score of 25-17.
The Lady Hornets next face Galeton at home this Wednesday, January 4th starting at 6:00 p.m. The Third and Fourth Grade Girls Youth Basketball Team, coached by Steve Macenski and Lynnette Singer, will hold an intersquad scrimmage at half-time of the JV game against Galeton. Come on out and support the younger girls who are learning the sport of basketball!
