The Hornets jumped out to a 20-4 first quarter lead in route to a 81-42 thumping against Liberty. Jordan Jackson and Chase Barnes had 14 points a piece to lead the Hornets while Dylan Prough added 11 points, six assists and four steals. Barnes also had six boards.
Matt Reese and Sam Mitchell had eight points each while Billy Sell scored seven. Kieron Smethers had six points and 12 rebounds for the Hornets while Joey Doganeiro and Ben Shaw scored four points each, Michael Pietropola added three while Brandon Pierce scored two.
In JV action, Wellsboro picked up their fourth win in a row as they defeated Liberty 52-33. Michael Pietropola scored 21 points to lead the team. The team will be back in action Tuesday, January 17 as they host the Athens Wildcats.
