Hornets edge Cowanesque

The Hornets edged Cowanesque Valley 48-44 to remain undefeated in the NTL West. The win, Wellsboro's 17th of the 2011-12 season and 9th in the NTL West, was a hard fought contest the entire game. Cowanesque was able to keep the scoring close during much of the contest, but fell in the final minutes.
Junior Jordan Jackson led the Hornets with scoring with 17 points, while Junior Matt Reese and Senior Sam Mitchell each contributed 10 points.
In JV action, the Hornets narrowly defeated Cowanesque 31-30 to improve their record to 12-7. Freshman Michael Pietropola led the team in scoring with 13 points. The team will be back in action on Friday, February 10, as they travel to Mansfield to take on the Tigers.
