The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team downed Wyalusing on the road last night 3-1.
The Hornets took the first set 27-25, lost the second 25-19, and then rebounded to win sets three and four to take the match.
Seniors Hannah Zuchowski and Mackenzie Marple had 14 points each to lead the Hornets. Zuchowski also added 23 kills, and 26 digs. Marple pitched in 16 assists and 28 digs on the night. Juniors Kaelyn Keane and Maggie Smith each recorded 3 kills, while Alex Kurtz added 13 assists.
In JV action, the Hornets lost to Wyalusing 25-20 and 25-14.
With the win for the Varsity team, the Hornets improve their 2012 record to 6-3 overall (4-2 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Monday, October 1 as they travel to Southside.
