The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team shut out Towanda in 3 sets Tuesday night in Wellsboro.
The Hornets took the first set 26-24, won the second set 25-18, and captured the third set 25-19 for the non-league win. Senior Hannah Zuchowski led the Hornets with 23 kills, 7 points, and 16 digs.
Also contributing for Wellsboro were Senior Mackenzie Marple with 8 kills, 15 assists, and 18 points and Junior Alex Kurtz with 15 assists.
In JV action, the Hornets won 2-1 (22-25, 25-21, 15-6) to pick up their 16th win of the season. With the win, the Varsity team improves to 12-4 (5-3 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Thursday, October 18 as they travel to Sayre.
