The Wellsboro Varsity softball team picked up a league win over the Galeton Tigers Wednesday night, 12-3. The key to Wellsboro's victory was an eight-run fourth inning.
Sophomore Brooke Kohler had three hits, with an RBI and a stolen base and Freshman Lauren Bleggi had two hits, with two stolen bases. Freshman Paige Carr also added two hits, a stolen base and an RBI and Junior Hannah Zuchowski had two hits and an RBI.
Junior Brittany Redell struck out two, walked two and hit one batter to claim her first win of the year.
With the win the Hornets improve their 2012 season record to 10-4 (6-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action today as they host Cowanesque Valley.
