For the first in Coach Greg Carr's coaching career, the Wellsboro Varsity softball team beat Troy, 3-1. Freshman Jordan Butters went 2-2 on the afternoon to lead the Hornets at the plate. Freshman Baylea Lehman went 1-3 with and RBI and Junior Hannah Zuchowski was 1-3.
Sophomore Brooke Kohler pitched the distance one strike out no walks to pick up her first victory on the year.
With the win the Hornets improve their 2012 season record to 4-1 (4-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Friday, April 20, as they host the Canton Warriors.
