The Wellsboro Varsity girls cross country team swept the first league meet of the season.
The Hornets defeated Canton, Cowanesque Valley, and Mansfield 15-50 to claim the win. Freshman Jada Jackson was the top finished for Wellsboro as she finished 3rd overall with a time of 21:52. Freshman Jordyn Coffee finished right behind Jackson in 4th with a time of 21:54.
Rouding out the rest of the Hornet finishers were Freshman Hannah Hood in 5th (22:14), Junior Charlotte Worthington in 6th (22:31), Senior Randi Grim in 7th (22:34), Sophomore Annie Sweeney in 8th (28:59), Junior Baylee Mann in 10th (24:29), Freshman Camryn Keane in 13th (25:39), Freshman Samantha Bailey in 14th (26:17), and Sophomore Caitlynn Butler in 16th (28:59).
The team will be back in action on Saturday, September 15, as they compete in the Altoona Invite.
