The Wellsboro Varsity girls soccer team shut out Northeast Bradford tonight on the road, 1-0.
The Lady Hornets didn't take long to get into a rhythm, in fact, it only took them 16 minutes. Freshman Sarah Ingerick sent a long throw in to Senior Sarah Kramer who finished with a strong shot to the back of the net to put the Hornets up for good, 1-0.
"Although we didn't take as many shots on goal, we controlled the ball the majority of the game," said head coach Carolyn Mitchell. "Emilie Kramer and Brooke Kohler did a stand out job defended the NEB speed on the attack the second half of the game.
"This was a team we had previously lost to and I'm proud of the girls for believing in themselves and having the scoreboard reflect it."
In JV action, the Hornets played to a 0-0 tie.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 6-7-1. The team will be back in action on Friday, October 12 as they host Sayre.
