The Wellsboro Lady Hornets fell to the Indians of Cowanesque Valley by a score of 44-40. Andrea Dean led the team with 12 points followed by Mackenzie Marple and Taylor Acorn with 8 points apiece. Marple had 7 rebounds and Dean had 6.
"It was a hard-fought game," said coach Mary Grab. "The girls never gave up and put in a terrific effort."
Poor shooting and turnovers contributed to the loss, bringing the Lady Hornets record to 4-3 (3-1 NTL West).
In JV action, CV outscored the Lady Hornets by a score of 34-18. Paige Carr led the team with 6 points. Next up for the Lady Hornets is Mansfield, an away game, this Wednesday, January 11 at 6:00 p.m.
