The Wellsboro Varsity boys soccer team fell to Sayre 5-2 last night in a non-league contest.
The Redskins controlled the ball most of the first half, but only managed one goal. However, they were able to score 19 seconds into the second half to take a 2-0 lead.
The Hornets bounced back two minutes later as Senior Mitch Snyder scored a goal off an assist from Junior Dan Brooks. Freshman Dawson Prough tied the game at 2-2 in the 27th minute, but Sayre would score three more goals to claim the victory.
Sophmore Jake Mitchell had 4 saves for the Hornets.
In JV action, the Hornets tied Sayre 1-1off a Tucker Worthington goal.
With the loss, the Hornets fall to 1-4 (1-0 NTL West). The team will be back in action on September 15 as they travel to Troy.
