The Wellsboro Varstiy boys soccer team fell to Northeast Bradford 1-0 on Saturday.
The Hornets tallied 5 shots but none on goal. Sophomore Goalie Jake Mitchell had 7 saves and kept Wellsboro in the game.
"NEB is a very good team and will win a lot of games," said head coach John Shaffer. "We focused on trying to stop their key players and prevented them from creating many dangerous chances.
"Jake made two huge saves including a kick save that kept us in the game. In the second half we were able to get the ball into their half but lacked the creative ability to get shots on goal. We are improving and I think next week will be a big week for us."
The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 11 as they host Williamson.
