The Wellsboro boys basketball team found themselves in an unfamiliar spot in their game with Canton Tuesday night - trailing at halftime.
Canton led 29-28 at halftime, but the Hornets would come alive in the second half to remain undefeated. The Hornets used strong defensive play to hold the Warriors to only 20 points.
Four of the starting 5 Hornets were in double figures on the night. Junior Dylan Prough led the team with a game-high 19 points and Senior Jordan Jackson had 17 points to back up Prough. Jackson also recorded 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists.
Rounding out the scoring for the Hornets were Sophomore Kieron Smethers with 11 points, Senior Matt Reese with 10, and Sophomore Michael Pietropola with 4.
In the JV game, the Hornets downed Canton 32-16. Freshman Dawson Prough was the leading scorer in the game with 13 points to get the Hornets to 4-2.
With the win, the Varsity team improves to 6-0. The team will be back in action Friday night, December 21 as they travel to Athens.
