After 100 minutes of soccer, Wellsboro and Troy tied at 0-0 Saturday under the lights in Wellsboro. After the disappointing loss on Thursday, Wellsboro got back to what the team is all about - defense. Wellsboro worked hard, played smart, and gave up nothing. Troy controlled most of the game, but head coach John Shaffer was pleased with the result.
"It is the first time in school history that Troy has not defeated us, so we took baby steps to earning a victory. I have to give a credit to Luke Sampson who made two amazing saves and really controlled the back line, as well as my back four who played like men tonight."
Wellsboro returns to action Tuesday, September 20, as they travel to Northern Potter.
