Canton was able to notch their first win in the NTL Friday night in their game against Wellsboro. Canton was able to score early in the first half, but then allowed the Hornets to get back into the game with a costly fumble on their own five-yard line. The Hornet defense played tough in the second quarter, but a long screen play allowed Canton to kick a field goal before time expired in the first half. Canton's defense was able to withstand the Hornet's offense, and held on to win the contest, 17-7.
On Monday, the Canton JV team was also able to hold off the Hornets. The entire game was an offensive struggle, as both teams combined to score 62 points. However, Canton pulled out the win in the final seconds, beating the Hornets 32-30.
