Selinsgrove wins opener

BELLEFONTE – Carter Young kicked four field goals — the longest coming from 40 yards — and Mark Pastore tossed two touchdown passes to lead Selinsgrove to a 32-0 win over Bellefonte in a nonleague football opener.
The Seals lost starting tailback Tucker Teats to an injury on his first carry of the season.
Young kicked a 19-yard field goal, and Pastore found senior Nick Rice for his first career TD, 19-yarder, as Selinsgrove took a 10-0 after one quarter.
Selinsgrove couldn't get in the end zone as Young kicked two more field goals as his 40-yarder late in the third quarter made it 19-0.
Pastore found sophomore Gavin Bastian for a 60-yard TD with 11:45 left in the game to seal the victory. Bastian scored one-yard TD with eight minutes for the final touchdown.
The Selinsgrove defense allowed just 179 yards in the victory, and forced four Bellefonte turnovers.
