In the girls game the Lady Hornets lost to Mansfield, 25-16. Lily Wagner had 2 points, Lilah Paredes had 4 points, Jordan Rumsey had 2 points, Makenna Robbins had 2 points, Olivia Carl had 6 points.

On the boys side the Hornets beat Mansfield 36-33 in overtime. The Tigers led 11-8 after the first quarter and 20-17 at halftime. The Hornets outscored the visiting Tigers 9-6 in the third quarter and each team scored 4 points in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. Wellsboro edged Mansfield 6-3 in the overtime period to hold on for the win.

"Tonight was a highly competitive game that came down to a few key plays," said head coach Kyle Smith. "Both teams traded baskets for the majority of the night and I thought the contributions we got from our bench made the difference tonight. North-Penn Mansfield forced us into some difficult situations and we struggled to adjust to their pressure at times. Ultimately, I was pleased with our response to adversity throughout the game and our bench players stepped up their efforts in critical moments of the game."

Aaron Kirk led the Hornets with 15 points, Maxwell Mascho scored 7 points, Jacob Baldwin and Keagan Spaar each scored 4 points, and Ethan Keane, Jonathan Carl and Luke Rothermel all scored 2 points each.

Wellsboro's B Team won 28-11 to remain undefeated on the season. Maxwell Mascho scored 6 points, Joey Baldwin scored 5 points, Keagan Spaar scored 3 points, Gideon Lawton scored 3 points, Malachai Rinebols scored 2 points, Noah Zengerle scored 2 points, Colin Fletcher scored 2 points, Henry Nowak scored 2 points, Marek Mascho scored 2 points and Bryan Bergan scored 1 point.

Both teams host Towanda on Saturday, December 4 at 6:00 p.m.
